Have fun painting your favorite fur baby while reinforcing key oil painting techniques and principles. In this one-day workshop you’ll learn what to look for when selecting your reference photo and how to turn that photo into a portrait of your pet that is filled with personality and love. Fall in love with your pet all over again!

Learn How To
• Create a dynamic composition as the foundation for capturing your pet’s personality
• Simplify basic anatomy into simple shapes and form
• Infuse the neutral colors of fur with the colors of temperature and light
• Paint expressive eyes that you can stare into forever
• Use edges and brushwork to portray fur you can “feel”

Bring 3 to 5 photos of your favorite pet. Photos with strong light/shadow patterns lead to stronger paintings. Beth will also have photos if you need one. You can paint from digital images on your tablet (phones are too small), or from 8-1/2 x 11 prints.

Beth will be there to guide and encourage you every step of the way by sharing her expertise and offering instruction based on your individual needs.
